Renown mixologist Miguel Aranda has joined forced with Casa Mezcal’s Ignacio Carballido to overhaul the downtown Mexican restaurant’s downstairs lounge space, reopening as Botanic Lab. With a new focus on mixology and innovative cocktails, Aranda is most excited about highlighting the importance of the fresh ingredients, spices and herbs, some of which will be grown on-site. Botanic Lab is going to have a bountiful selection of spices and fresh local herbs, salt varietals, homemade bitters and teas from all over the globe. Knowledge of the healing power of plants is older than humanity itself, and Aranda will bring this knowledge with him as he creates the drink menu. The design of the bar will resemble a taste kitchen, ancient bottles of apothecary with diverse infused liqueurs with rare herbs and spices, shelves stocked with the spirits of Centro America and the Caribbean: Mezcal, Tequila, Pisco, Rum, and more.

Rounding out the team at Botanic Lab will be producer and local internacional DJ. Botanic lab is a hidden gem of lower east side. Whit lounge ambience and creative cocktails this is a perfect spot for groups selabratinos and entertainment or just for date night.
